Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage & Imagine Me!
Imagine Me! sessions are linked to all three prime areas of learning and development within the EYFS, also covering all of the four specific areas.

Communication & Language
Throughout all Imagine Me! Sessions the children discuss what they might experience, what they could find and the landscapes they are in.  All the children are encouraged to take part in speaking and listening, working together to produce a story and interact within it.  Through these sessions there is no right or wrong  and every suggestion can be acted on.  Children develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves.

Physical Development
Drama is a physical thing.  Through games, mime and role play children are able to develop their co-ordination, control and movement.  From games using frozen images to miming digging up a treasure chest or playing an animal, in Imagine Me! the children are constantly offered opportunities to be active and interactive through movement.

Personal, Social & Environmental Development
Drama is a social activity.  Children work together learning to form positive relationships and developing respect for each other as they craft their own story within the session.  Every child is important in an Imagine Me! session and will contribute equally to the piece being produced.  Drama builds a child’s confidence, helping them develop a positive sense of themselves and others.

Literacy
Imagine Me! uses a wide variety of stimuli within the sessions including books, poems and other written material which are used to ignite, not only an interest in reading material but discussions, ideas and development of characters, stories and situations.

Mathematics
Counting is used throughout many Imagine Me! sessions.  From counting down to a spaceship launch to counting into the start of a song, counting how many imaginary shells we have or numbers in songs and rhymes.
